About Me

I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Palaeography, Epigraphy, and Numismatics from the Indian Institute of Heritage, Noida (IIH) (formerly known as the National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation & Museology).

This course equips me with skills in decoding ancient Indian scripts (Harappan, Brahmi & its evolution, Kharoshti, Nagari, Devanagari, Tamil-Brahmi, Bhattiprolu, Vatteluttu, Grantha, Kannada, Borneo & Javanese), reading ancient inscriptions, and Indian coinage.

I have also gained experience in making estampages, utilizing digital tools for epigraphy, conducting field work and eye-copies, as well as documentation, research, and publication.

Additionally, I have briefly studied Museology, Archaeology, and Research Methodology, broadening my studies in the field.

My skills in Numismatics focus on the ancient period as of now, where I specialize in understanding the motifs and devices along with deciphering legends on ancient Indian coins (PMC, Local Tribal Coins, Indo-Greek, Scythian, Parthian, Western Kshatrapa, Kushana and Gupta).

I also engage in analyzing the historical significance, iconography, and minting techniques of ancient Indian coinage.

This intricate study has deepened my understanding of economic, political, and cultural aspects of Indian History.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in History from Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi, where I studied all three periods of Indian History, European History, History of the USA, History of China & Japan, Archives & Museums, and Indian Art & Architecture (Buddhist, Hindu & Jaina).

During my undergraduate studies, I co-authored a research paper titled “Ashokan Edicts Revisited,” which was published in the college’s journal.

My passion for history as an academic discipline began in the 8th grade which led me to pursue the Humanities stream- and has continued to grow ever since.

I am enthusiastic about touring and observing museums, monuments, and historical sites, as well as conducting field surveys.

I am dedicated to advancing historical research and contributing to the field through meticulous study and scholarly work.
